Course Description
A concert pianist known for memorizing Beethoven’s sonatas and a murdered veterinarian whose body was found surrounded by rose petals. This tale seems scripted for an opening scene of a horror flick. But it’s not Hollywood, it’s real life in Greeneville, South Carolina. From the same state that brought the Alex Murdaugh murder trial comes the Rose Petal Murder trial. Christina Parcell was stabbed 31 times in her home on October 13, 2021. At the time of her death, Zachary Hughes, a Julliard-trained pianist, had no criminal history. Could this trained pianist commit such a violent act against a person he doesn’t allegedly know that well?
